Oh my, has it really been that long since my last post?? Guys, I'm sorry. This semester has truly taken a lot out of me. And guess what? It's that time again for me to be completely uninspired by my wardrobe, except this time, there's not much I can do about that. Fair warning, these posts will be quite spaced out in the near future.

But enough about sad things, it's a day of love! I guess I'm in a weird place this Vday when it comes to my love life, but I feel so appreciative of the friends I have around me at school. They have created a home away from home. I can honestly say Valentine's Day has overall not been very successful for me. However, I'm choosing self-love on this holiday rather than wishing I had a certain special someone here to cuddle me in the cold February weather. Being in a competitive environment + an age where craving a stable, healthy relationship becomes more and more apparent, I need to just take a step back and breathe.

Now to talk about why we're really here. The outfit. I'm not much of a fan of red but quite the sucker for burgundy/crimson (Sorry, Harvard! Doesn't mean I love Yale any less!). It's a cooler tone that pairs well with winter and is just more flattering, in my opinion. Red makes me more pale xD And pink is sometimes a bit to girly and cheery for me. Also, peep the frills poking out of my coat sleeves (do we say peep anymore?). It's really all in the detail. I think usually frills are excessive and often wind up in your plate of food. Careful come dinnertime, guys! But these really do add more of a romantic touch to my look. And they make me feel like Hamilton.

So whether you're solo or you've found a partner, celebrate today. For everyone that says it's a dumb holiday: Yes it's far too commercialized, but I think if we just focus on the fact that it's a reminder to embrace love and give it back to the people in your life, it becomes so much more important.
