My idea of starting a Saturday morning has never included waking up before the sunrise. But it's the one time my city is serene. The movement in it has been stopped for hours, the shops are still closed, and the light of the dawn spreads evenly across the water and buildings. It's still gentle, right before you start to squint your eyes. You can taste and smell the difference in the air. The best part is feeling like there isn't a thing in the world you can't get done.
I used the beautiful light of the (still ungodly) early morning to shoot with a new friend. We walked a bridge overlooking the more industrial downtown and ended up in a rapidly reconstructing part of the city.
I love tie up tops; it'll be a while before they're out of style for me. But I especially love choker tops and this has both! And would you ever think I got it for only 5 bucks?! I swore off of Papaya's at the moment cheap quality years ago. When I recently decided to give it another chance, I immediately saw 10 different things I wanted. Surprisingly, these things felt like more than they're worth. The top may not be high end, but for 5 bucks, you really can't go wrong. It's held up just fine in the washer, in case you're wondering :p My ripped black denim was 50% off because I don't buy anything for full price hardly ever. Tying up the grungy outfit to match the backdrop and messy hair, ladies and gentlemen, the only way you'll see me able to afford quality pleather. This oversized, thrifted Calvin Klein was a fun find in Revolve over in St. Pete, FL. And since this is still a downtown girl look, no matter how grunge it gets, it's best paired with heels in this atmosphere; for the sake of poise and a sharper way to present your ensemble. Consider it a way of saying, "Look, guys, I'm cool and down-to-earth, but mama taught me well." Plus, are you really a downtown girl if you're not killing yourself in heels? Side note - these are actually really comfy, also CK. After all, I'm a comfort seeker.
